Ledisi Mary Stuart Rogers Theater at Gallo Center For The Arts Concert reviews
Shinedown was great....the others? Meh..
Ledisi, who rocked the place, was obviously the climax of the event. I thought I'd give Sevendust, 10 Years, and Chevelle a chance even though I've never heard of them. I know Puddle of Mud suck live but surprisingly they didn't disappoint. The other three acts were slightly above average, enough for me to consider buying a few tracks from iTunes. Raleigh's new Boutique Amphitheatre, the venue, has a great deal of promise but needs a lot of work. The setting is OK for now, but the organizers seriously need to do their homework on managing water and food lines. Standing in line for 1:15 in 100+ degree weather for a $4 small bottle of water was unacceptable. Ripping off the public for water when the temperature is so high is shameful. Sadly, the high prices might keep me from attending again. My 10-year-old daughter thought Ledisi was awesome, slightly justifying the $40 spent on water.
